Wines 2024 ‘ndom’ Teroldego (Heathcote) *6 pack*

2024 ‘ndom’ Teroldego (Heathcote) *6 pack*

$190.00

Winemaking:

Teroldego from the Chalmers vineyard in Heathcote, Victoria. This is the first crop from vines planted by the Chalmers family in 2016. Trentino Alto-Adige is home base for this deeply coloured high-acid variety. ‘Ndom, northern Italian slang for ‘let’s go’ describes my excitement in working with this newcomer to the Australian wine mix. Hand harvested in early March - 15% whole bunch added to the bottom of a stainless steel fermenter and the remaining 85% destemmed fruit on top. 5 days of cool pre-ferment maceration with daily pumpovers -  wild ferment kicked off on day 6 and pressed. Natural full malolactic in tank and 70ppm total sulphur addition. 150 cases produced.

Tasting:

Blue & red fruits ping from the glass. Blueberry, black currant, brambly earth, pine and cigar notes are welcome first impressions. Sweet anise, Campari, florals and cherry cola lift the wine. Plenty of vitality and although deeply staining in colour, drinks more like a light red. May cause teeth-staining smiles.
